The Richmond Group USA Manufacturing Search Division is recruiting a Procurement Leader (Plant Purchasing Manager) to join a U.S. based industrial manufacturer that is expanding and investing in their business by market expansion and acquisition.

This is a very exciting search because our client has been growing every year, creating greater opportunities and positive challenges for their employees throughout their U.S. operations. This role reports to the Director of Supply Chain, who will grant this role the latitude, autonomy, and creativity to positively impact the success of our client's regional operations and overall success as a business.

 

Responsibilities of the Purchasing Manager

  • You will be responsible for developing a team of buyers and sourcing agents, implementing the material sourcing and procurement strategy in order to meet the production demands of the manufacturing operation.
  • You will evaluate the current sourcing strategy, analyze current and prospective supplier relationships, and research market trends and market pricing to understand our client's strengths and weaknesses
  • You will develop a strong pipeline of suppliers in order to enhance material availability, improve product quality, and reduce costs. You will develop and execute lean process improvements that support the increasing demand for high quality product.

Background

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Science or related discipline
  • Proven success in driving positive change through metric driven process improvements to sourcing and procurement strategy.
  • Strong project management skills, including experience in contract management and supplier relationship management
  • Self-motivated, strong organizational skills, natural problem solver and strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Supply Chain certification through APICs a plus
