The Richmond Group USA Manufacturing Search Division is seeking an Electrical Engineer | Automation Project Manager to join a manufacturing client.

This is a unique opportunity for you to join an established business and work closely with senior leadership as they overhaul their plant operations with new technology and replace aging systems and processes. You will be counted on to troubleshoot electrical and automation equipment problems, assist or manage capital improvements for camera inspection systems and work closely with manufacturing sites to implement improvements or solve problems. 

Responsibilities of the Automation Engineer

  • Implement modern manufacturing methods for several U.S. based manufacturing sites.
  • Identify new automation technologies and processes that will improvement productivity
  • Developing and implement process control conditions that will improve high volume production operations and reduce manufacturing costs.
  • Manage capital projects across several plants that involve PLCs, automation technology, vision systems, and material handling and packaging equipment

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering
  • 5+ years of manufacturing industry experience
  • Strong experience with manufacturing automation systems, PLCs, electronics and camera inspection systems.
  • Hands-on experience with the installation, repair and operation of material handling and process manufacturing machinery.
  • Strong project management skills, natural problem solver, excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel 30-50% to support several manufacturing plants in the U.S.
