We have been engaged to hire on a Process Control Engineer to join a well-established manufacturer of specialty chemicals used in a variety of consumer and industrial markets. This is a 150+ year old business with over 10 production sites in North America. This role is based out of a production site near Chicago, IL and will be expected to travel to support improvements and projects.

This role is ideal for a self-driven engineering talent to join their Corporate Engineering excellence team. You will work closely with plants and develop the scope, secure equipment and contracts, and manage capital and process improvements. This role involves managing several concurrent projects at one or more production plants.

Our client is looking for you to take charge and put energy and creative thinking into the role to solve problems and drive positive change. Many engineers who join this company and have success are promoted through the organization to run larger projects and manage operations.

Background Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineer Technology, or Chemical Engineering are ideal)
  • Industrial site experience with plant electrical systems, instrumentation and automation and PLCs (Allen Bradley)
  • Experience in chemical or process materials manufacturing a big plus
  • Ability to run capital improvements and process improvements, source and select vendors and contractors
  • Experience providing technical support on Allen Bradley PLCs is crucial
  • Willing to travel 50%
