Job Description
The TRG Growth Practice is currently engaged with a top client looking to hire a Technical Director to lead the future of products that are designed to protect people working in dangerous environments in beautiful South Carolina.
This role sits at the intersection of chemistry, applications, leadership, and real-world impact.
What you’ll do
- Lead, mentor, and grow a technical and engineering team in Charleston operations
- Execute the technical strategy and oversee product design, prototyping, testing, validation, and deployment
- Drive development from concept through production, while partnering with Product, Quality, and Operations to ensure seamless execution
- Establish standards, processes, and best practices
- Stay ahead of emerging technologies, materials, and industry trends
- Serve as a technical authority for stakeholders and customers, ensuring compliance and meeting industry standards.
What we’re looking for
You’re a technical leader who understands both chemistry and materials science and people leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience leading teams and complex development programs from idea to launch
- Familiarity with industry standards for testing, materials and applications.
- Team leader with data-driven decision making and clear communication skills
